Use AI to Sell Smarter
I developed this program to help you turn AI into a sales advantage.
Discover how top reps use AI to scale their outreach, get better responses, and close more deals.
A step-by-step guide to AI-powered cold emails
Jason Bay explains how AI can help write highly customized, effective cold emails quickly.
By feeding the AI the right information, you can craft email sequences that are more personalized and likely to get a response.
Step 1: Feed in your personas
⇢ Tell the AI exactly who you’re selling to, including their priorities, problems, current solutions, and aspirations.
Example: Provide specific triggers for AI to look for in your research, such as pain points or relevant details about the prospect's industry or role.
↳ The more detailed the input, the better the output.
Step 2: Use the starter prompt to structure the email
⇢ Give the AI a structured format for the cold email. Here's a template to guide it:
Subject line: 5 words or less, something specific, referencing an initiative from your research.
First line: A personalized observation about the prospect.
Second line: Focus on the problem this observation creates for the prospect's role and the business.
Third line: Include social proof, explaining how you’ve helped similar clients.
Last line: A closed-ended call to action to gauge interest.
Example:
Subject: FAPI approval
Hi David,
Saw that you just got FDA approval to proceed with the Fibroblast Activation Protein Inhibitor (FAPI) clinical trial.
As you launch this trial, we usually hear that manual paper systems and Excel databases create extra work that could delay startup dates.
We’re helping operations leaders capture trial data more easily to shorten startup timelines to under 4 weeks.

Jason
↳ Keep the email short (under 80 words), with single-sentence paragraphs, and written using the prospect's language.
Step 3: Edit the email
⇢ AI-generated emails may need polishing. Review and refine the output, adding any missing details or tweaking the tone.
Example: Tell AI to improve the flow or include additional relevant points.
↳ Editing ensures the email feels personal and polished.
Step 4: Start sending emails
⇢ Once the email is ready, send it to prospects.
Example: AI gives you a structured, tailored email that can be sent quickly, saving you time and boosting outreach effectiveness.
↳ AI-powered emails streamline the outreach process, getting better results in less time.
Why you need AI for cold emails
⇢ If you’re not using AI for cold emails, you’re falling behind. AI can save you time on research, build better messaging, and increase the chances of booking meetings.
Example: AI helps you write emails that resonate with prospects, leading to higher engagement and more meetings.
↳ Using AI for cold emails can be a game-changer in your outreach strategy.
Automate CRM entries with AI
Brian LaManna demonstrates a practical workflow for sales reps to use AI (specifically Claude) to automate the extraction and organization of key sales call information into CRM fields, using the MEDDICC sales methodology.
1.) Extract call transcripts
⇢ After a sales call, export or copy the transcript from your call recording platform (e.g., Gong, Zoom).
2.) Prepare your AI prompt
⇢ Use a detailed prompt to instruct the AI on what information to extract.
⇢ Include a reference guide or PDF of your sales methodology (e.g., MEDDICC) in the prompt, so the AI knows exactly what to look for.
3.) Paste transcript into Claude (or similar AI)
⇢ Paste the transcript and your instructions into Claude.
Example prompt: “Break down this transcript into MEDDICC fields: Metrics, Economic Buyer, Decision Criteria, Decision Process, Identify Pain, Champion, Competition. Use the attached PDF as a guide.”
↳ Claude will break the conversation into the relevant MEDDICC categories.
4.) Review and edit the output
⇢ The AI will generate a structured summary. Review it for accuracy and completeness.
↳ Edit or supplement any sections as needed for clarity or context.
5.) Update your CRM
⇢ Copy the AI-generated summaries directly into the corresponding CRM fields.
↳ This ensures that key details are captured consistently and quickly.
Benefits
⇢ Saves time: Automates the tedious process of note-taking and CRM updates.
⇢ Improves accuracy: Reduces manual entry errors and ensures all important details are captured.
⇢ Customizable: Tailor prompts to fit your company’s specific sales methodology or key data points.
⇢ Focus on selling: Frees up more time for actual selling activities by minimizing administrative work.
Pro Tips
⇢ Refine your prompts: The more specific your instructions, the better the AI’s output.
⇢ Iterate: Adjust your prompt based on results to improve accuracy over time.
⇢ Security: Ensure sensitive data is handled according to your company’s privacy guidelines.

Craft winning LinkedIn messages with AI
Morgan J Ingram shared an AI prompt for crafting LinkedIn messages with high response rates:
Crafting LinkedIn Messages with AI
⇢ Use AI to analyze messages that got positive responses.
⇢ Create response templates based on AI’s analysis, reflecting your style.
⇢ Each template should be concise, under 300 characters, and easy to read.
⇢ End each message with one of two key questions:
“How does that compare to what you do today?”
“How are you currently doing this internally?”
Key Elements of the Templates
⇢ Reference a specific detail from the prospect’s message.
⇢ Include a placeholder for personalization showing you’ve researched them.
⇢ Mention a customer result with a measurable metric.
⇢ Focus on solving one key problem they likely face.
Example Prompt:
"You are an expert LinkedIn sales messaging strategist with 20+ years of experience crafting messages that generate high response rates from C-suite executives. Analyze these LinkedIn messages to my target prospects that have positive responses: [INSERT THEIR MESSAGES]"
Writing Requirements
⇢ Avoid generic openings like “Hope all is well.”
⇢ Keep language simple, as if writing for a 9-year-old.
⇢ Limit sentences to 15 words maximum.
⇢ Create curiosity without being vague.
Example Response:
"Hi [Name], I saw your recent post on [topic], and I believe we could help with [specific issue]. Many of our clients saw a [specific result], and I’d love to discuss how we can achieve the same for you. How does that compare to what you do today?"
Improving Results
⇢ Use 5-10 successful past messages as input examples for the AI.
⇢ After AI generates templates, add your personal touch for better results.
⇢ AI gets you 80% of the way, your input adds the final 20%.
